Spam

I see in Recent changes that there are a lot of spam pages created, though there's nothing I can really do about them... Just wondering if there isn't some kind of "captcha" for mediawiki which can be installed to stop robot sign-ups? --BorrowedTime 13:04, 11 October 2007 (EDT)

You can download an extension to use a captcha, but it does not stop all spammers and it also tends to harass regular users who are trying to get on the Wiki. :( You can read about it here though - http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit .
