Whiskey Balls
My family makes these every year around Christmas time; they are quite tasty. By the time they have been stored for several days, the alcohol should have evaporated.
2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs [We put the vanilla wafers in a food processor.]
1 c. finely chopped walnuts
1 c. confectioners’ sugar
2 T. cocoa
3 T. dark corn syrup
6 T. whiskey
pinch salt
1) Combine all ingredients thoroughly.
2) Using a tablespoon of the mixture for each candy/cookie, roll into ball.
3) Roll in granulated sugar.
4) Store in cereal containers for several days. [My family uses metal tins. Any sort of airtight container would work.]
