  • Whoa! What is ASEX?

ASEX is our sweet new way of organizing different projects that AVENites are planning, whether they are official or not. Any AVENite is free to post their ideas and projects and try to recruit people to help them out. With this wiki-based organization, people can describe what they are doing, what is needed to get the project going, and anything else that is relevant. Current Projects

AVENues

The deal: We're making a monthly newsletter to showcase the thoughts and works of asexuals and their allies.

How you can contribute: Make some articles, poetry, creative writing, or artwork! Send it all to newsletter@asexuality.org. (We've been having a few email address problems lately; if you don't get a reply to your submission within 3 business days, please send to hallucigenia.sparsa@gmail.com instead.) Be sure to also look for ongoing AVENues features such as Food For Thought and From The Forum that need nominations or answers to a specific question.

Deadline: Technically none, but to have your stuff considered for a specific issue of AVENues, it should be submitted at least 1 week before the issue comes out. If you miss that date, we can still put your submission in a future issue.

This Wiki

The deal: We're trying to store the sum total of our knowledge, theory, and speculation about asexuality in communally editable form on the Internet.

How you can contribute:

  • Write new articles about concepts that are important to your understanding of asexuality. (If you don't know how to write Wiki articles, see MediaWiki Help.)
  • Edit existing articles to include further information and theory that they don't have yet. (For a list of all existing articles, see the Wiki Map.)
  • Make a User Page for yourself. Then look up your friends' user pages, and leave them some nice friendly comments.
  • Contribute to one of our ongoing Wiki-Based Community Projects:
  • Add to ASEX! If you've got a project for asexual visibility, education, or community that you'd like to get worked on, put it up here. Don't be shy! The whole point of this being a Wiki page is so that anybody can contribute.
  • Good food is better than sex any day of the week. Add your favourite recipes to the AVEN Cookbook!
  • Start your own Wiki-based project and list it here!

Deadline: No way. The AVENwiki is here to stay.
