AVENwiki:Policy

The purpose of this Wiki is to accumulate up-to-date information about asexuality, the asexual community, and visibility projects. It may also be used for AVEN community projects such as a list of birthdays or communication on user profiles.

Spam

If a page is created for the purpose of trying to sell something, or if it has nothing to do with asexuality or the asexual community, then it is spam. Spam will be deleted immediately.

If a page is written entirely in some language other than English, it will be assumed to be spam, especially if it contains links to commercial or unrelated websites.

If an account has only been used for spamming, it will be blocked.

Vandalism

Blanking a page or sections of a page without explanation, or defacing a page or sections of a page, is vandalism. Vandalism will be reverted. Inserting advertisements or irrelevant links is also vandalism; as well, it counts as spamming in that an account used for it will be blocked.

An account that is consistently used for non-spam vandalism may also be blocked, at the Wikimaster's discretion.

If the creator of a page blanks out their own page, and no other meaningful contributions have been made to the page other than by the creator, then it will be assumed that the creator of the page wants the page deleted. However, it is strongly preferred that a person with such wishes will communicate with the Wikimaster rather than engaging in actions which could be mistaken for vandalism.

Other Deletions

The Wikimaster may sometimes delete irrelevant or useless pages that are not spam. This should be done only after careful consideration and consultation with the page's creator and contributors.
