Female (♀) may refer to the sex of an organism.

Physical characteristics after puberty may include:

• Wide hips
• Menstruation
• Vulva
• Vagina
• Clitoris

Female as a Gender

Female also refers to a gender identity. A person may have a female sex but a different gender identity, or a different sex and a female gender identity.
