Recent Events

A British asexual was kicked out of a UK LGBT conference. This sparked an enormous debate about asexuality and the role that it plays in the LGBT rights movement at the conference, and asexuality will be one of the main topics of discussion at the same conference in six months.

An episode of the Montel Williams Show on asexuality was filmed in New York in November and will be aired on January 4, 2007. MTV News is also considering filming a segment on asexuality.

New AVEN Developments

AVENues, the official AVEN newsletter, now has a corresponding Google group and RSS feed, both of which will deliver the newsletter straight to your inbox or website.

The AVEN forum moderators have constructed a new forum, Celebration Time!, in which people from AVEN can celebrate their accomplishments and other pleasing events. There is also a new hidden forum, (h)AVEN, in which members of AVEN can have a safe, private place to talk about personal issues such as sexual trauma, violence, domestic abuse, and substance abuse.
