Derived from the Greek word gyno which means "female/woman" and the Latin word sexualis meaning "relating to sex," the term is used to describe anyone who is attracted to women (including both straight men and lesbians), and is particularly useful when describing the sexual orientation of an individual with a non-binary gender identity.
