AVEN Post of the Week

As a Sexual, I believe the rule should be the same for Aces that I always advise other Sexuals; if you're so disinterested in what's going on that you have to consciously put on an act to appear to be enjoying it at all, then stop. Plenty of sexual relationships involve sexual acts that one partner enjoys more than the other, but if the other partner isn't getting any pleasure or comfort out of it at all, and the other partner needs them to seem to in order to enjoy it themselves, then it's best to find another move that's a bit more mutually pleasing, even if it's still a little unbalanced.
– Pamcakes on faking sexual enjoyment.

Did you know...

• … that some asexual people are happier on their own or with a group of close friends, while other asexuals have a desire to date and will form more intimate romantic relationships?
• … that asexual relationships are based on the same elements that are also important for many sexual people, like understanding, commitment, trust, emotional intimacy and communication?
• … that for some asexuals arousal is a fairly regular occurrence, though it is not associated with a desire to find a sexual partner? Some asexuals will occasionally masturbate, but feel no desire for partnered sexuality. Other asexual people experience little or no arousal.
